Dear Royalty,
The first quarter of my life highlighted one thing clearly:
I walked through some painful yet necessary acts of faith.
There were moments when my emotions screamed “yes” – yes to comfort, yes to staying, yes to people I loved, yes to opportunities that looked perfect on paper. But God, in His quiet steady voice, said “no.” And as hard as it was, I went with God.
It didn’t always make sense. Sometimes it left me crying behind closed doors, questioning why obedience had to hurt. But even through the ache, I’ve seen that choosing God over feelings doesn’t always bring instant peace, it brings lasting purpose.
That’s why I’m writing this. Because emotions are real, but they are not always right. And if we’re going to grow in faith and walk in purpose, we have to learn not to trust our emotions to make Godly decisions.
So welcome to a new month and the next half of the year 2025.
This is your time to make a mark, not just any mark but the God mark.
This is your moment to move with clarity, with power, and with alignment.
The Lord has need of your vessel.
But He needs you to disconnect from emotional sentiments and break through thought patterns that are rooted in feelings, not faith.
I write to you, the one who knows God has been calling them to more.
I write to you, the one standing at the edge of decisions that will shape destiny.
I write to you, who needs to walk in Kairos moments, divinely appointed opportunities that cannot be missed.
Don’t make Godly decisions using emotional logic.
Don’t let sentiment rob you of spiritual alignment.
This month and in this season, choose obedience over emotion.
Choose surrender over sensitivity.
Choose faith over feeling.
Because when you follow God’s voice, not your emotional noise, heaven responds. And lives, including yours, are changed forever.
1. Emotions Are Real But They Aren’t Always Right
God created our emotions. They are gifts, indicators not dictators. Like the dashboard lights in a car, emotions can show you something is happening, but they should never be the steering wheel. When we let our feelings lead us, we risk walking by sight and not by faith.
Jeremiah 17:9 reminds us, “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked who can understand it” In other words, what you feel isn’t always a reflection of what’s true or what’s right. And making decisions based on that can be dangerous.
2. Jesus Didn’t Follow His Feelings, He Followed His Father
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus felt sorrow so deep it nearly crushed Him. Emotionally, He wanted another way. He prayed, “Father if it is possible take this cup from me.” (Matthew 26:39). But then He surrendered, “Yet not as I will but as You will.”
This is the ultimate model of obedience over emotion. Jesus didn’t deny what He felt but He didn’t follow it either. He chose purpose over pain and that’s what we’re called to do too.
3. Emotions Can Be Manipulated But Truth Remains Constant
Your emotions can be influenced by fatigue, hormones, heartbreak, fear, pressure, or even the weather👀. One day you feel unstoppable, the next day you can’t get out of bed. That’s how inconsistent emotions are, and yet we often trust them more than God’s Word.
But Psalm 119:105 says, “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Not your feelings. Not your instincts. His Word.
4. Maturity Means Learning to Pause
One of the clearest signs of growth is the ability to pause when your emotions are screaming. Don’t mistake urgency for clarity. Not every open door is divine and not every tear means you’re supposed to quit.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is wait.
Wait to respond.
Wait to speak.
Wait to decide until God speaks.
I’ve come to learn this: WAITING IS A KEY STRATEGY OF THE BELIEVER.
5. Let the Spirit Not Your Emotions Lead
Romans 8:14 says, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”
This means we have a better guide than our gut, we have the Holy Spirit. But He won’t fight for your attention over chaos. He whispers. You must quiet your soul long enough to listen.
So when making decisions about relationships, work, calling, or conflict don’t ask, “How do I feel?” Ask, “What has God said?”
Final Thoughts
Emotions may feel loud and urgent. But God’s voice is steady and sure.
Choosing Him may not always feel good at first but it will always produce good fruit.
So here’s my challenge to you
Don’t let your feelings lead your faith.
Let your faith lead your feelings.
Because in the end, your emotions may lie to you
But God never will.
Maybe I went through the first half of my year so I can pour this short message into you: Don’t make Godly decisions by trusting your emotions.
With love and truth,
Sharon Paulina Boye
