Time to build, Time to Plough

Dear Soldier,

The call for APPLICATION is ringing loud. To thrive as a candidate, there’s a prerequisite: durability in your role, a quality that withstands the tests of time and challenges.

Moreover, there is a resounding call for COMPLETE SAINTS. What I’m emphasizing is the need to excel in every facet of your life. If you’re truly a representative of God, it’s crucial to radiate light not only spiritually but also in the way you manage your home, conduct business, communicate with others, and nurture relationships. Speaking in tongues should not be a detached skill from speaking kindly and fostering positive connections. It’s more than a duty; it’s about being a true ambassador. Hence, the subject for today: It’s time to build, time to plough, and time to put in the work in all areas of our lives.

Now is the time to fortify your capabilities, become exceptionally skilled at what you do, and align yourself with being fit for the Master’s use. Invest in your growth this year. While many plan on launching and soaring, how much attention have you given to expanding your knowledge/Mental and emotional intelligence? Often, we prepare to start but forget the significance of finishing well – that’s where your focus should lie.

Consider creating various categories for your life to build upon. Perhaps you’ve mastered business and spirituality but find challenges in your relationships with parents and family. Take a pause and focus on constructing that aspect. God desires completeness in His followers!

For some, laziness may be a stumbling block. It’s not that you’re unaware of the right steps; rather, you’re unwilling to persistently give your all. It’s like working in small bursts, and honestly, you can’t keep up. It’s time to confront and conquer this weakness by committing to consistent effort and sustained excellence.

Let’s delve into a crucial aspect that often goes unspoken but holds immense significance – personal hygiene. For some, the daily routine of bathing, brushing teeth, laundering clothes, and maintaining overall health might pose challenges. As a woman, you might also encounter difficulties in properly disposing of pads after your period. It’s time to address these areas with the aim of representing God in every aspect of your life.

God desires completeness in His followers, and that includes building the capacity to endure and thrive. Take a closer look at your daily habits and identify the areas that need improvement. If personal hygiene is among the challenges you face, don’t see it as a problem; view it as an opportunity for growth. With 11 months ahead, commit to a daily journey of intentional habit-building.

Let’s get explicit about a psychological tool that can aid in forming new habits – classical conditioning. It’s about learning through association. Ivan Pavlov introduced the classical conditioning theory in the early 20th century. His initial focus was on studying the digestive system’s response to food-related stimuli. Using dogs as his research subjects, Pavlov observed that the dogs would naturally salivate when presented with food. To condition them, he introduced a whistle each time they were fed. Over time, the dogs associated the sound of the whistle with food, leading them to salivate even when food wasn’t present. This demonstrated how a previously neutral stimulus (the whistle) could elicit a physiological response due to conditioning.

For example, you can link your morning bathroom routine with waking up. Create a positive association between the reflex action of needing to pee and the habit of bathing early in the morning. By consciously connecting actions, you can pave the way for healthier habits.

Remember, if you are representing God, it’s not just about your spiritual life; it extends to every facet of your being. Live for Him and live well, paying attention to the details that contribute to a complete and godly representation.

I am on this journey alongside you, writing not as a perfect person but as someone who is also learning and actively building myself. I encourage you to do the same.

Yours

Sharon Paulina Boye
