Dear teenage girl,
I would like to share my heart with you this season. For the past 6 years, I have been writing to you, my generation, and more than anything, I desire that you succeed and succeed well in your journey to purpose fulfilment. I write not to entertain you but so that together we can indeed dominate the world for CHRIST.
Today, i am writing on change and responsibility, I am writing to a teenager, who is excited about adulthood but perhaps does not completely understand the depth to which growth will require you to apply yourself. To you, a young girl who has just seen your first period and perhaps is scared as to why your body is acting weirdly.
Before i continue, i would like to congratulate you on seeing your,”lady visitor”. She will be coming every month and i want you to understand that you will need to take charge of your hygiene as you expect her regularly. On some days, your stomach will hurt, on others, your back will hurt, sometimes, you would feel as though your breast is sour and on others, you just dont want to talk to anyone around you, one thing you will need to do however, whether you like it or not, whether you are in control of it or not, is, menstruate, and while you menstruate, you will need to ensure to regularly change your pad, you will need to regularly take your bath more than usual and check to ensure you smell nice … you know what i have just summarised? It’s called responsibility.
One day you wake up, and mummy and daddy cannot help you bathe anymore, you move from wearing a tube to a bra and trust me as much as you may enjoy the transition, it might be uncomfortable wearing these bra’s. Furthermore, your parents no longer help wash your dresses for you, you now have to do these things yourself.
These things you do or experience in life are called responsibilities and it comes with growth.

That’s why I am writing this post today, there is such a long journey ahead of you, and as you grow, life will demand you make certain critical decisions. These decisions if made well, will affect your life positively ahead and vice versa.
Adulthood is such a beautiful journey young lady, however, i would like you to know that every day, you will be required to play a role in the matters that define your destiny.
As you journey through life, dear believer, i repeat, there are critical decisions you will need to make, and you need to be deliberate about them.
You are not too young to know these truths, the earlier you do, the better your decisions 😉.
I will highlight some of them briefly in this post and ineptly explain them in the next post.
Ask yourself these questions:
1. How well am i using my time?
2. How well am i involved in the activities of my life? Eg my relationship with my siblings, parents and friends?
3. How well am i growing in alignment with God’s mandate for me?
4. Am i occupied with purpose fulfilment or pleasure fulfilment?
5. What do i need to be doing now? What am i NOT to be doing ?
To be continued.
